Megan Meier Foundation Partnership
As many of our patients and friends know, Amazing Smiles is passionate about anti-bullying education and promoting kindness among kids. That’s why we developed our year-round program Stand Up and Smile, which encourages kids to ‘be a buddy, not a bully’. We work with schools, parents, and families to make bullying a thing of the past.
We are also extremely proud of our partnership with the Megan Meier Foundation to spread awareness about bullying. Our Stand Up and Smile program encourages kids to ‘be a buddy, not a bully’. Kids suffer from teasing, online harassment, and other forms of bullying on a daily basis. This can have a lasting effect on their confidence, learning, and success for years to come.
The Megan Meier foundation takes a deeper dive into the sad, often unspoken reality of bullying. They help teach kids what they can do to prevent these tragedies in their schools.
Meet the Megan Meier Foundation
The Megan Meier Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and prevention of bullying. Their vision is “to live in a world where bullying and cyberbullying no longer exist.” The organization was founded in 2007 by Tina Meier when her daughter, Megan, who took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor pretending to be a boy on MySpace. Like our team, they believe that through empowering society to celebrate individuality and the acceptance of others, we can work together to make a difference. This way, we can create a safer and kinder world.
All it takes is one person to put a stop to bullying when they see it in action – and that one person could be you!
We love Teachers & Students!
As part of our partnership with MMF, we are sponsoring up to 10 classrooms who will receive the MMF’s virtual seminar. This sponsorship includes a recorded video of Megan’s story, and a curriculum for additional self-guided activities and classroom discussions. If you or a teacher you know are interested in having the virtual presentation gifted to your school, please reach out to our Community Relations Coordinator Laura at laurakelley@amazingsmiles.com.
